Intravaginal Culture with INVOCELL - IVC

Intravaginal-culture

INVOCELL is a relatively new option for fertility treatment that is not currently offered at all centers. It involves the use of a device that allows for fertilization and incubation to take place inside a container about the size of your thumb within the vagina. You will still undergo egg retrieval as the sperm and eggs are placed inside the device. After 5 days the INVOCELL is removed, and the best quality embryos (usually up to 2) are transferred into the uterus. IVC is an alternative to IVF but is not suitable for everyone depending on your diagnosis. IVC with INVOCELL success rates are variable among fertility practices, with live birth percentages ranging from ~30% to ~50%.
