ICSI is recommended for couples or individuals with male factor infertility, cryopreserved egg and/or sperm IVF cycles, diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), advanced maternal age, etc. It differs from CI in that an embryologist selects a single sperm from a washed semen sample and injects it directly into the egg. Unlike CI, we perform this procedure on mature eggs (MII and sometimes MI).
