Egg Vitrification

Egg freezing has 4 key phases: diagnostics/planning with your fertility doctor, stimulation/monitoring, egg retrieval, and freezing/storing of eggs in liquid nitrogen. Egg quality and IVF lab experience will ultimately determine the success of your egg vit cycle. Unfortunately, there are no tests that give insight on egg quality; however, we do know that age can be a direct indicator of egg quality. Please view the ART class for a detailed overview of egg vitrification and/or use the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) Egg Freezing Counseling Tool below to plug in your age and estimated number of mature eggs to project probability of a live birth.
